For more than 35 years, in both executive and senior planning positions, Mike has provided effective financial strategies for plan sponsors in qualified, non-qualified retirement and employee benefit programs. As an Accredited Investment Fiduciary Analyst (AIFA) he is certified to conduct Fiduciary Assessments on Investment Stewards, Managers and Advisors and serves as an Analyst, for CEFEX, The Centre for Fiduciary Excellence. In 2008, he founded Plan Sponsor Consultants, a nationally recognized award winning independent retirement plan consulting firm. PSC has offices in Atlanta, Birmingham, DC, Maryland & Virginia, Michigan and Mobile.

Passionately committed to fiduciary education and financial wellness, Mike has spoken before many forums. Since 2010, Plan Sponsor Consultants has sponsored Breakfast with Benefits workshops for retirement plan sponsors on fiduciary issues and financial wellness programs. Mike has frequently served as a Panelist on fiduciary topics including:

  • Financial Wellness and Retirement Readiness
  • Benchmarking Retirement Plans and RFPs
  • Fiduciary Prudent Standards of Care

Mike serves as Managing Director of Plan Sponsor Consultants. He is a member of Retirement Partners Group (RPG), a network of advisors associated with LPL Financial who are among the 401(k) plan distribution leaders in terms of number of retirement plan advisors, plans, participants and assets under advisement. He is also a member of  GRP Advisor Alliance, an independent network of retirement plan focused advisors. GRP Advisor Alliance is not affiliated with or endorsed by LPL Financial. Mike is also a member of the prestigious national Retirement Advisor Council (RAC), where he serves on 2 committees. Mike also serves on various committees of the National Association of Plan Advisors (NAPA), a division of the American Retirement Association. Mike also serves on the Retirement Advisor Leadership Committee of LPL Retirement Partners. He is a member of the Centre For Fiduciary Excellence (CEFEX) and the Center for Fiduciary Studies.

Mike is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary Analyst (AIFA). AIFA’s have completed a rigorous specialized program on investment fiduciary standards of care at the Center for Fiduciary Studies, in association with the University of Pittsburgh Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business. He also is a Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor through the National Association of Plan Advisors.

Before entering the profession, Mike served as a Naval Officer. Mike holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Mount Saint Mary’s University.  He performed his graduate work at George Washington University School of Business. Formerly, Mike was the Managing Partner for Georgia for New England Financial.

Previously, Mike served as a member of the Board of Directors of The Buckhead Coalition for 12 years. For 17 years, Mike served on the Board of the Atlanta Community Food Bank and was the Chair during the only Capital Campaign to build the new Food Bank Complex. He is active in his local conference of the Saint Vincent de Paul Society.

Mike resides in Roswell, Georgia. His daughter, Addie, is Vice President of Administration and Technology for Plan Sponsor Consultants. He enjoys playing ALTA and USTA tennis.
